Most of the Spring Jazz Concerts from 1979 to 1999 have been recorded live. We have completed the process of converting these analog tapes to CD. If you are interested in purchasing one or more of these early recordings, please follow the instructions on this page for placing your order. Pricing is based upon sound quality. All proceeds go to the P.H.S. Jazz Band Fund. PLEASE NOTE: Absolutely no orders will be accepted after May 5, 2005. In April, 2000 the band began to digitally record the concert charts on the night before the performance in the Eveland Gym with the intent of producing a high quality compact disk recording. Live recordings were reinstated in 2004 and 2005.
The sound clips on this page are 20 seconds to 2 minutes in length and may take a few minutes to download. Please be patient. You can save these clips to your hard drive by right clicking on the link and choosing the "Save as . . ." option. In order to speed up the download time, we have converted all sound clips to 11,025 Hz 8 bit mono, a considerable downgrade from the original stereo recordings. These sample clips are a good representation of the band's performance but are far below the quality of sound you can expect on CD.
