The P.H.S. Jazz Band Rhythm Audition Sheet was created with "Finale 2002" notation software.  In order to download the music you must be using:

Furthermore, you'll need to download a free plug-in from Coda Music Technology called SmartMusic Viewer.  For the jazz script in the Rhythm Sheet to appear properly, you'll also need to download the Windows SmartMusic Viewer FontPack.  Both downloads are free and are thoroughly explained and available at the Coda Music Technology Download Site (click here).  The site can also be accessed by clicking on one of the "Audition Sheet"  instrument links listed above.  Paris High School is proud to be able to make this new technology available to it's students and the jazz community at-large.

Note:  Some of the text at the bottom of the sheets have been deleted so that everything makes more sense in the web format.  The SmartMusic Viewer is capable of "playing" the rhythm sheet.  The playback will reproduce accurate swing rhythms, however, it SHOULD NOT serve as a model for articulation.  Ask a competent jazz musician for the correct interpretation of the articulations or open the piano rhythm sheet for a more accurate rendering of the articulation.

If the title and dynamics appear "out of whack" you probably don't have the "Jazz" font loaded on your computer. Go to the Coda web site for a free download of the FontPack.

Feel free to print out the "RHYTHM AUDITION SHEET" sheet for individual practice.

**If your computer does not meet the minimum requirements for the SmartMusic Viewer, I would be happy to email the Finale music file to you.  All you need is is the Finale NotePad program to open the file in order to print and play it.  Finale NotePad is free download from Coda Music Technology (click here).
