PASS-FAIL OPTION (FOR CREDIT)
A student has the opportunity to take a fifth solid subject on a pass-fail
basis. This subject course work should be developed along the following
guidelines:
| 1) | Only sophomores, juniors and seniors will be allowed to register for this option. |
| 2) | This subject is to be designated during the first two (2) weeks of each semester and must be approved by the teacher, guidance counselor and parent. |
| 3) | The student requesting the pass-fail option must have an accumulated grade point average of 3.0 on a 5.0 grading system. |
| 4) | Required courses of the school may not be considered for the pass-fail option as well as Yearbook, Newspaper, Band and Chorus. |
| 5) | Since this is an enrichment program, the credit received for this program may not be used to make up credit lost through failures. |
| 6) | Students must complete the entire semester course to receive credit and such work must receive satisfactory evaluation from the instructor. |
| 7) | A"Pass" grade is a grade of "D" or above and such grade will not be included in the student's Grade Point Average. However, the student will receive credit. |
| 8) | Students registering for the class work for a letter grade will be considered first. If there is room available in the classroom, the pass-fail registerees will then be considered. |
Students should consider that any course that would be evaluated in their future college registration should be taken for a letter grade. This is an opportunity to enrich their education in classes outside their chosen field, and only such classes should be considered for this option.
