Residency verification:
To make the registration process simpler and faster for parents and guardians, Paris Union School District 95 will not require any initial documentation when registering your student for school. The District is using a new residency verification process to ensure accuracy in the enrollment process. The residency verification process is not about excluding students and families—it is about ensuring the District complies with Illinois law and protects taxpayer resources.
Residence information for all families is verified by CLEAR, an independent third party, which ensures objectivity and compliance. Families identified as possible non-residents have the opportunity to provide additional supporting documentation.
CLEAR is an automatic verification process that verifies a parent or guardian connection to the address provided at registration. CLEAR scans public electronic databases to verify the connection.
-
If your residency is verified through the CLEAR process, you will not need to submit any documentation to certify that you live within the district. CLEAR does it for you and your student is verified and can attend tuition free.
-
If your residency is not verified through the CLEAR process, you will be notified starting July 6th by letter and email. You will be asked to submit documentation for residency verification by July 13th to allow your student to attend District schools’ tuition free.
This process is an efficient way to ensure that all students enrolled in our schools are residents of the Paris Union School District 95 community. Residency verification safeguards District resources for taxpayers and is convenient for families because it eliminates the need to provide residency documentation during registration every year. CLEAR completes this step for you. This verification check will be completed prior to the start of school in July and once more during the school year.
The District may investigate the residency status of any student both prior to and following enrollment. This may include, but is not limited to, using third-party vendors, investigative services, conducting home visits, and/or requesting additional documentation.
